VIDEO: Excavators Demolish Pathways Leading to Tsitsernakaberd Memorial – What’s Happening on Site
This morning, Facebook user Artur Chakhoyan reported that the municipality has decided to demolish the park pathways leading to the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial, which are paved with stones, and to replace them with asphalt.
Citizens present at the site report that the pathways are not damaged and pose no problems, expressing confusion over why the demolition is taking place so aggressively, causing destruction.
A representative from the municipality is currently present at the Tsitsernakaberd pathways, attempting to explain the ongoing work. According to him, emergency services and fire trucks are unable to access the area.
It is worth noting that the pathways are intended for pedestrians and were originally constructed for the purpose of allowing people to walk up to the memorial. There are several other roads leading to the memorial that are in relatively good condition.
