Our Discussion Focuses on the Lachin Corridor: Marukyan
Special Representative Edmon Marukyan has termed Baku's new accusations against Yerevan regarding "territorial claims" as unfounded. Speaking on public television, Marukyan emphasized that Azerbaijani armed forces are present in Armenia's sovereign territory. "Azerbaijan is obliged to withdraw its armed forces from the administrative territory of Soviet Armenia, which has been recognized as the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia according to the Almaty Declaration," he stated, highlighting that Armenia has made no territorial claims against Azerbaijan.
The Special Representative expects that the UN Security Council will take specific decisions. Marukyan noted that Armenia is not discussing alternative routes proposed by Azerbaijan. "Our discussion focuses on the Lachin corridor," he said. Marukyan regards the recent flows of disinformation organized by Azerbaijan as a basis for organizing new provocations on the ground.
