Is Captured Citizen Rashid Beglaryan Related to Humanitarian Cargo Transportation? Clarification
Vardan Sargsyan, a representative of the working group managing the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh, addressed the circulating information on Azerbaijani telegram channels regarding the recently abducted citizen Rashid Beglaryan's supposed connection to humanitarian cargo transportation during an interview with "Lurer."
"This action aims to discredit this solely humanitarian initiative. This information is of a provocative nature, and the citizen has no relation to the transportation of humanitarian goods or to the company 'Spayka.' All our 19 drivers are on-site; there are no issues in this regard," he stated.
Regarding developments related to humanitarian cargo transportation, Sargsyan remarked, "I regret to say that there are currently no changes concerning the transportation of humanitarian cargo. At the same time, there is a noticeable increase in concerns and attention from the international community regarding this situation, particularly from the USA, various European organizations, international human rights organizations, and political parties in France. We are witnessing declarations and calls; these messages primarily call on Azerbaijan to open the Lachin corridor, which has been blocked for nearly eight months, and not to hinder the transport of humanitarian goods."
According to Sargsyan, this indicates a clear understanding within the international community that the deepening crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh is real and poses a genuine threat to people's lives. "At the same time, we are witnessing severe incidents in Nagorno-Karabakh, where individuals are collapsing literally in queues for bread. There is an acute shortage of food, medicine, and essential supplies, while our trucks carrying humanitarian cargo remain stationary, and luggage is not reaching its destination," he noted. Sargsyan reported that there has been no response from Russian peacekeepers, and the situation concerning movement remains unchanged.
