Unknown Person Stabs Professor and Two Students in Canada

On Wednesday, a professor and two students were stabbed at the University of Waterloo in Canada during a class on "gender issues," with the suspect having been arrested, according to a report by the Associated Press citing local police.

Authorities stated that the victims' lives are not in danger, adding that the motive for the attack at the University of Waterloo remains unclear. The suspect is currently being questioned by investigators.

“At this time, there is no threat to public safety either inside or outside the university,” said Shaena Morris, head of the Waterloo regional police.

Nick Manning, the university's vice president for communications, referred to the suspect as a member of the “university community” but declined to confirm whether the man is a student. Manning noted that the stabbing occurred during the Philosophy 202 class, which, according to the university's website, is dedicated to “gender issues.”
