Armenian Citizens Will Be Able to Travel to Georgia with Identification Cards

The Permanent Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly is discussing a bill on ratifying the agreement that allows citizens of Armenia and Georgia to travel between the two countries without a visa. The aim of this agreement is to simplify mutual visits of citizens within both territories.

According to the agreement, citizens of Armenia and Georgia can make mutual visits not only with passports but also with identification cards. Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan noted that this initiative is part of the government’s program for 2021-2026, which aims to deepen relations with Georgia.

He reminded that the agreement was signed on January 12, 2023. “The Georgian side has already completed its internal procedures. In Armenia, the bill has passed constitutional scrutiny and is now submitted for approval to the National Assembly,” he stated.
