30-Year-Old Kapan Resident Breaks 52-Year-Old Uncle's Fingers, Strikes Head, Burns Bed
The investigation into the brutal murder case of a resident of Kapan has been completed by the Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. The necessary investigative and procedural actions have clarified the essential circumstances of the incident, including the motive.
Specifically, the investigation has revealed and substantiated that on January 8, 2023, around 3:00 PM, a 30-year-old resident of Kapan, motivated by sexual insults directed at him and his father by his 52-year-old uncle, intended to kill him with particular brutality. First, he broke the fingers of the uncle's left hand, then delivered multiple blows to his head and various parts of his body with different objects, causing numerous bodily injuries.
Afterward, while the victim lay in bed in a dying state, he set the blanket on fire with a lighter, extinguishing it 10-15 minutes later. According to the conclusion of the forensic examination assigned during the investigation, the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head area involving a vital organ.
Based on the collected evidence, charges have been brought against the Kapan resident under the 6th point of the 2nd part of Article 155 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. He has been placed under detention as a measure of restraint.
The investigation has been completed, and the case materials have been sent to the supervising prosecutor with a request to confirm the indictment and forward it to the court.
