Pashinyan Responds to Aliyev
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has responded to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, during an extended meeting of the EAEU Supreme Council.
Pashinyan specifically stated: "Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev used a phrase in his remarks that has served as a basis for territorial claims against Armenia in recent years. I would like to emphasize that this is used within the framework of the implementation of the declaration of November 9, 2020. I want to stress that this declaration concerns only one corridor, and that is the Lachin corridor, which should have been under the control of the Russian peacekeepers, but unfortunately, it is illegally blocked by Azerbaijan."
Pashinyan also added that, on the other hand, he wishes to note that Armenia is ready to unblock all communications in the region that pass through the territory of Armenia. "We are ready for the opening of these communications under the sovereignty and legal framework of the Republic of Armenia."
It should be noted that the meeting of the EAEU Supreme Council was held today in Moscow.
