Armenian Foreign Ministry's Comment on Pashinyan's Remarks About Zakharova
The Armenian Foreign Ministry regularly comments on the statements made by leaders of other countries. This was reported on Wednesday to TASS by a diplomatic source in Yerevan, drawing attention to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's remarks that the Russian Foreign Ministry representative "cannot comment" on his statements.
The diplomatic source highlighted that the Armenian Foreign Ministry "frequently comments on the statements of leaders of other countries." "Perhaps Pashinyan has just been set up," the source stated.
During a question and answer session with the government at the National Assembly, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, responding to a question from Arpi Davoyan, a member of the "Civil Contract" faction, said, "I do not know which representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry made such a statement, but the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry cannot be my interlocutor; the president is my interlocutor, and the prime minister, not even the representative of such a respected and friendly country like Russia can comment on what I said; they should simply listen to what I have to say."
Arpine Davoyan read a translated comment in Armenian regarding the official statement of the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry about Armenia's alleged departure from the CSTO.
Maria Zakharova, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated, "Russia considers the activities of the CSTO to be very effective and has demonstrated itself well in this regard. However, every country has the rights and possibilities to assess the organization's activities for itself."
