1 Ton of Cocaine Imported into Armenia
The National Security Service of Armenia disclosed that approximately one ton of cocaine, valued at around 250 million Euros, has been imported into the Republic of Armenia. The substance was brought in through a company engaged in fruit importation, which ordered the goods from a partner company in Ecuador. The transit of the drugs occurred through Panama, Italy, and Georgia before reaching Armenian territory.
This revelation comes from an ongoing criminal investigation initiated on May 13, 2023, under case number 58221423. As part of the investigation, forensic expertise has been assigned, interrogations have been conducted, and requests for information have been sent to relevant authorities. The investigative body has also been instructed to undertake operational measures.
The investigation is ongoing. Note: A suspect is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the law, as stipulated by the Armenian Criminal Procedure Code, based on a legally effective court decision.
