Weightlifter Gor Minasyan Crowned Double Champion of Asia
Armenian weightlifter Gor Minasyan, representing Bahrain in the +109 kg category, has become a double champion at the Asian Weightlifting Championships.
In the clean and jerk event, he recorded 217 kg, while his total in the combined lift results was 464 kg. Both of these results set new records for the Asian Championships.
In 2022, heavyweight Gor Minasyan had also claimed the title of Asian champion as part of the Bahrain national team, lifting a total of 452 kg.
The 2023 Asian Championships were held in Jinju, South Korea, from May 5 to May 13.
