CSTO Failed to Fulfill Its Obligations Towards Armenia: Pashinyan
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has announced the existing difficulties in relations with the CSTO. "There are challenges in the relations between Armenia and the CSTO. Last year, we hosted the CSTO summit, but unfortunately, we were unable to reach a consensus on important decisions. We expressed our position and dissatisfaction with the CSTO," Pashinyan stated while speaking at the Center for Transatlantic Relations in Prague on Thursday.
According to him, the CSTO "has failed to fulfill the obligations that the organization has had and has towards Armenia." On November 23, 2022, in Yerevan, Pashinyan refused to sign the CSTO Collective Security Council declaration and the proposed joint measures for assistance to Armenia.
