The young man who burned the Azerbaijani flag and was subsequently removed from the venue is designer Aram Nikoghosyan, according to Armenian media.

When the Azerbaijani team was introduced, the flag of that country was brought into the hall and was also displayed on the large screen. As reported, the audience began to boo when the national team was being introduced, prompting a young man to take the already lowered flag and set it on fire, then attempt to exit the venue. A security staff member was able to apprehend the individual conducting the protest, after which a new flag was brought inside. Armenian fans also booed Turkey.
