VIDEO: Armenian Young Man Burns Azerbaijani Flag and Exits the Hall During Weightlifting European Championship

The opening ceremony of the Weightlifting European Championship is taking place at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex in Yerevan. During the parade of flags representing participating countries, an incident occurred.

When the Azerbaijani team was announced, the flag of that country was brought into the hall, which was also displayed on the large screen in the venue. As previously reported, the audience began to boo during the introduction of the team, prompting a young man to take the now-lowered flag from the stage, set it on fire, and attempt to exit the hall with it. Security personnel managed to apprehend the protester, after which a new flag was brought inside. Armenian fans also booed Turkey.
