IAEA Chief in Tehran, Meets with Iranian Atomic Energy Organization Head
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, has met with Mohammad Eslami, the head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, in Tehran. This was reported on Friday by the Iranian Tasnim news agency.
According to the agency, the meeting took place just a few hours after Grossi's arrival in Iran. Details of the discussion have not yet been disclosed.
On Thursday, Farsnews reported that Grossi was in Tehran to "meet with officials of the Islamic Republic" and discuss "various issues." Euronews has reported that the IAEA chief plans to meet with President Ebrahim Raisi to discuss the "resumption of dialogue" regarding Iran's nuclear deal.
Additionally, on Friday, Al Hadath TV announced that Grossi intends to discuss with Iranian officials the increase in the number of IAEA inspectors for checking Iran's nuclear facilities.
