Germany's Chancellor Removes Reference to Artsakh Citizens' Right to Self-Determination
Germany's Chancellor Olaf Scholz has removed a segment from his statement that discussed the necessity of recognizing the right to self-determination of the citizens of Nagorno-Karabakh.
According to the press release published on the Chancellor's website following a press conference with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Scholz stated that "the peaceful resolution of the conflict must be achieved on the basis of territorial integrity principles of Armenia and Azerbaijan."
However, according to the original version of the announcement, Scholz indicated that "the peaceful resolution of the conflict must be achieved on the basis of territorial integrity of Armenia and Azerbaijan and the right of the citizens of Nagorno-Karabakh to self-determination." The original version of the announcement has been preserved in Google's cache.
These statements were made by the German Chancellor during a press conference held on March 2 with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
