The West Doesn't Hide That It Works Against Russia in the CIS: Lavrov
The Western countries do not hide that they are working in the CIS to ensure that these countries do not maintain friendly relations with Russia. This was stated on Thursday by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a press conference following the results of the G20 Foreign Ministers' meeting in New Delhi.
“What we are currently witnessing is not only an increase in activity from the Americans but also from Europeans and Britons in the developing world, particularly in the CIS. They do not conceal that they are working there so that these countries do not keep good relations with the Russian Federation,” said the head of Russian diplomacy.
He noted that Moscow is aware of the arguments used by Western countries. “If you try to define the quintessence, this is it: ‘Join the side of the winner, Russia will collapse, so decide in advance,’ and I am not exaggerating,” Lavrov emphasized.
“However, I once again reiterate, we always support each country’s right to determine its own priorities. We come not only from understanding but we know that our neighbors, partners, and allies in the CSTO, the Eurasian Economic Union, and the CIS confirm their commitment to the obligations they have undertaken within the framework of these integration structures,” summarized the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
