Lavrov Comments on Biden's Visit to Kyiv and New Military Package for Ukraine
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergei Lavrov, referred to U.S. President Joe Biden's visit to Kyiv, as well as the new military aid package promised to Ukraine by Washington, as a "presentation," according to РИА Новости.
"It’s a presentation. And it continues that way. Everything is working in this direction from the standpoint of our former Western partners and the Nazi regime’s salvation. The efforts are in vain," Lavrov told reporters.
On Monday, it was reported that Biden made a one-day trip to Kyiv. Contrary to established practice, the U.S. administration did not inform the public about the journey. In fact, White House representatives had repeatedly denied that the president planned to visit Ukraine. Initially, Biden's working schedule distributed to journalists indicated that he would travel to Warsaw on Monday evening and that his new foreign visit would be limited to Poland.
Furthermore, on Monday, the United States announced a new aid package of $460 million to Kyiv. This announcement coincided with President Biden's undeclared visit to Kyiv.
