Azerbaijan Submits New Documents to International Court Regarding Lawsuit Against Armenia
The Azerbaijani government has sent the main document regarding its lawsuit against Armenia to the International Court, as reported by the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“This is an important step in the development of international judicial claims raised by our country against Armenia, in accordance with the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. The document submitted to the court is based on thousands of pages of evidence that attest to the 'crimes committed by Armenia' during the 30-year 'occupation of Azerbaijani lands'. The document contains detailed information about Azerbaijanis who were 'killed and displaced on their native lands', as well as 'persecutions and cleansings' due to their ethnic and national affiliation.
The Azerbaijani side demands that based on the submitted evidence, the application to hold Armenia accountable be granted. Azerbaijan considers it necessary for Armenia to fulfill its obligations regarding providing all necessary information about the country’s missing citizens and to return 'illegally seized' property, as well as to cease 'hate propaganda'. The Azerbaijani side will make every effort to hold those responsible for the aforementioned 'crimes' accountable under international law,” the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's statement reads.
It should be noted that the authoritarian country Azerbaijan continues to maintain its propaganda narratives while distracting the world's attention, placing the responsibility for its inhumane and horrific crimes — documented in the annals of history — on Armenia and Artsakh.
Additionally, at the beginning of this month, Azerbaijan filed a second lawsuit against Armenia at the International Court of Justice.
