The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, stated that he requested the national team's head coach Didier Deschamps to stay at the helm of the team despite their loss in the final of the 2022 World Cup.

“Of course, I asked Didier Deschamps to continue his work. I want him to go on. I said he has to digest the situation,” Macron's words were reported by RMC Sport.

It is recalled that the final match of the 2022 World Cup featured the national teams of Argentina and France. The match ended in a draw after regular and extra time with a score of 3-3. The Argentinians triumphed in the post-match penalty shootout with a score of 4-2.
