Armenia Allocated Additional Quota for Importing 5,000 Electric Cars Duty-Free
According to a decision by the Eurasian Economic Council, Armenia has been allocated an additional quota of 5,000 electric cars for the year 2026, allowing for duty-free imports at a rate of 0% customs duty. This information was provided by the Minister of Economy of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan.
He emphasized that details regarding the distribution process of the additional quota of 5,000 units and other specifications will be published in the near future. According to the Minister, approximately 1,900 vehicles' quota had been reserved for individuals and dealers.
“Thus, an additional 5,000 is added to that number, and our total quota for electric cars this year has reached 20,000,” said Papoyan. It is noteworthy that, according to a previous decision by the Eurasian Economic Council, Armenia had been granted a duty-free import quota of 15,000 electric vehicles.
