The Anti-Corruption Court has approved the claim of the Syunik Region Prosecutor's Office against Murad Simonian, the former head of the Tatev community, on July 30, 2026. This was reported to NEWS.am by the Republic of Armenia's Prosecutor General's Office.

Following the decision coming into legal force, 4 million 454 thousand drams will be recovered from Murad Simonian as compensation for damages caused to the state, along with calculated interest on the amount of 4 million 454 thousand drams.

Within the framework of their authority to protect public (community) interests, the Syunik Region Prosecutor's Office examined the evidence obtained throughout the criminal proceedings, which indicated that from 2018 to 2020, Murad Simonian had embezzled 4 million 454 thousand drams from the community-owned excavator, which had been provided to a private company, out of the total revenue of 13 million 600 thousand drams generated from its operation. On March 31, 2026, a lawsuit was submitted to the Anti-Corruption Court demanding the recovery of the damages caused to the Tatev community from Murad Simonian.
