Iran's Consul Comments on Reports of Selling Drones to Armenia
In Kapan, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Morteza Abedin Varamini, addressed the circulating news that Armenia has officially submitted a request for Iranian drones. In response to a journalist's question regarding whether he confirms the information that Armenia has officially requested to acquire Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles and whether Iran is ready to sell weapons to Armenia if the Armenian side expresses such interest, he stated:
“I think this question should be directed more towards the defense sector officials. The defense representatives of the two countries are in contact and engage in mutual visits and discussions. I believe Armenia will never need offensive weapons.”
