This is Our Hope: From the USA on Armenia and Azerbaijan Relations

The ultimate goal of the United States is the peaceful resolution of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was stated by Vedant Patel, Deputy Spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, during a press briefing when asked whether the deployment of EU mission observers by Armenia at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border would contribute to the establishment of lasting peace in the region.

“That is our hope. And that is what the Secretary of State (U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken), Ambassador Riker (U.S. Secretary of State’s advisor on Caucasus negotiations and Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Philip Riker), and others continue to assert when discussing this issue. I do not want to get ahead of the process, but certainly, our ultimate goal is a peaceful resolution between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Patel said.
