“If he approaches me”: Biden on possible meeting with Putin
US President Joe Biden has stated that he sees no reason to negotiate with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin at this time.
“He is acting brutally; I believe he is committing war crimes. Therefore, I do not see any sense in meeting with him at this time,” Biden said in an interview with CNN.
At the same time, he added that he would be willing to discuss the fate of American basketball player Brittney Griner, who has been convicted in the US. “If he approaches me at the G20 summit and says, ‘I want to talk about Griner,’ then that’s possible, but I don’t envision that,” Biden stated.
