US Military Base in Syria Targeted by Rocket Attack
A US military base in Syria has been subjected to a rocket attack, resulting in no reported injuries. This was confirmed by the press service of the Central Command of the Pentagon.
According to reports, the base was struck by 107 millimeter shells launched from Rumeilan in northeastern Syria; however, the rockets did not hit the facility itself.
"No American or allied forces were killed or injured. Buildings and other structures were also unharmed," the statement noted.
Military personnel at the site discovered several unexploded rockets. An investigation has been launched concerning the incident.
The conflict in Syria has been ongoing since 2011. In 2015, Russian armed forces began assisting the country in liberating its territory from militants at the invitation of Damascus.
