Armed Clashes Erupt Along Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan Border, Casualties Reported
Armed clashes are taking place along the entire perimeter of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, as reported by the press center of the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan's National Security Committee to RIA Novosti.
Kyrgyz defense structures have indicated that the fire was opened by the Tajik side, to which the Kyrgyz side responded. In turn, the National Security Committee of Tajikistan stated that Kyrgyz border guards attacked the Tajik border post "Dushanbe" of the "Isfara" border detachment, violating agreements.
It has been reported that one Tajik border guard has been killed and three others injured.
It is noteworthy that both Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
