Details on the Merger of Universities: Ministry of Education
Just yesterday, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced during a government session that the government intends to proceed with the consolidation of universities. This topic has sparked extensive discussion, raising numerous questions among the public.
To understand which universities will be merging, what will happen to private universities, and how university buildings will be utilized—whether they will be leased or repurposed—Auroranews contacted Gegham Melikbekyan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
“Currently, there is no project; the strategy must be approved by the National Assembly. Once it is approved, an action plan will be developed addressing each of your raised questions,” noted the Ministry spokesperson.
