VIDEO: How a Swimmer in Turkey Strikes a Shark with a Metal Pole

At the Turkish resort of Marmaris, beachgoers spotted a shark, which a brave swimmer struck with a metal pole and drove away from the shore. This was reported by ABC Gazetesi.

According to the publication, the incident occurred in the sea at a public beach. When one of the vacationers shouted that there was a shark in the water, panic ensued.

Footage of the incident has been shared online, leading to a heated debate in the comments section. Some users claimed to have seen a shark, while others cited that it was a Mediterranean fish often confused with a shark due to its large dorsal fin.

Later, the authorities of Marmaris also issued a statement on social media. "The fish that vacationers saw at the public beach and mistook for a shark was a Mediterranean fish. According to experts, this is a harmless creature," the message read.
