Ishkhan Saghatelyan Removed from Position of National Assembly Vice President
Member of Parliament Ishkhan Saghatelyan from the 'Hayastan' faction has been removed from his position as Vice President of the National Assembly. In a closed ballot, 66 members voted in favor of his removal, while none voted against.
It is noteworthy that the initiative to recall Saghatelyan from the position of Vice President was proposed by the 'Civil Contract' faction. According to them, Ishkhan Saghatelyan has repeatedly been absent from National Assembly sessions, incited clashes, used hate speech, and insulted various representatives of the public and other MPs.
“The Civil Contract faction aims to ensure the normal functioning of the National Assembly by adopting the decision to recall MP Ishkhan Saghatelyan from the position of Vice President, and to subsequently elect a Vice President put forward by the opposition who will fulfill their duties,” stated Civil Contract MP Arusyak Julhakyan during today's extraordinary session.
