First Footage from Afghanistan Earthquake that Caused Hundreds of Deaths
At least 280 people have died and more than 600 have been injured as a result of an earthquake that struck Paktika and Khost provinces in Afghanistan, according to the Bakhtar news agency, citing local officials.
“At least 280 people have died, and more than 600 have been injured as a result of the earthquake in Paktika and Khost provinces,” the agency quoted officials as saying.
Earlier reports indicated that 255 people died and 155 were injured in Paktika province alone.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) had previously reported a magnitude 6.1 earthquake in Afghanistan.
