Powerful Explosion in Melitopol

A powerful explosion has rocked the center of Melitopol. The information was reported by Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the Zaporizhzhia regional military-civilian administration.

“Today, around 07:40, a powerful explosion occurred in the city center. Residents of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, Serhii Kirov, and Pyotr Doroshenko streets felt their windows and walls shake. The city center is filled with black smoke,” Rogov wrote on his Telegram page.

As of now, there are no reports of injuries. Rogov has labeled the explosion as a “terrorist act.”

The authorities in Melitopol have classified the explosion from a vehicle in the city center as a terrorist attack aimed at destabilizing the peaceful life of the city.

Local authorities have confirmed that two volunteers providing humanitarian assistance were injured in the Melitopol explosion.
