Mirzoyan and Lavrov Have Had a Phone Conversation: What Was Discussed?
On May 23, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. During the call, they addressed the implementation process of the provisions of the trilateral statements from November 9, 2020, January 11, 2021, and November 26, 2021.
The heads of the foreign policy agencies of Armenia and Russia discussed issues related to the establishment of a commission for delimitation and border security between Armenia and Azerbaijan. They also touched upon the unblocking of economic ties and transportation communications in the region.
Minister Mirzoyan reaffirmed Armenia’s position regarding the establishment of regional peace and stability and the ongoing resolution process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Additionally, topics regarding bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Armenia and Russia were discussed, and ideas were exchanged on steps to further strengthen allied relations.
