Russia Will Not Accept Sweden and Finland Joining NATO: Russian Foreign Ministry Reaction
Any illusions that the Russian Federation will accept Sweden and Finland's accession to NATO should be dismissed. This was stated by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, as reported by RIA Novosti.
"The membership of Sweden and Finland in NATO will become yet another mistake with far-reaching consequences," Ryabkov said.
According to him, joining NATO will not strengthen security in these countries.
"The situation will fundamentally change around the world following Sweden's decision to join NATO," emphasized the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister.
