Stoltenberg Calls on Putin
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has reaffirmed the alliance's readiness to provide further assistance to Kyiv and has called on Russia to cease military operations in Ukraine, withdraw its troops, and engage in peaceful negotiations. He made this statement in an interview with the German newspaper Die Welt on Monday.
“On May 9, I once again urge Putin to immediately end the war, withdraw troops from Ukraine, and start peace negotiations. We are firmly beside Ukraine and will continue to help the country defend its right to self-defense,” Stoltenberg stated.
