UN Calls on US to Grant Visas to Russian Diplomats for Meeting Participation
The UN administration will continue to raise the issue of the US not granting visas to Russian diplomats. This was reported by RT, citing the spokesperson for the Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric.
“We have raised this issue multiple times with the host country. We have discussed it directly with them and will continue to bring it up in our conversations. It is important that anyone with business at the UN can come to the US to participate in these meetings,” he said.
On May 4, Dmitry Polyansky, the first deputy representative of Russia at the organization, stated that the participation of the Russian delegation in the UN Information Committee meeting was disrupted due to actions by the US, and the head of the delegation, Maria Zakharova, reported that experts had not yet been granted visas.
