Putin and Erdogan Discuss Situation in Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation on Tuesday, during which they discussed the situation in Ukraine. This was announced to journalists on Tuesday by the press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov.
“I can indeed confirm that,” the Kremlin spokesman responded when asked if the conversation between the two presidents was planned for Tuesday. “Moreover, I can say that it has already taken place, and I can confirm that the topic of Ukraine was indeed discussed.”
Peskov added that the Kremlin would publish more detailed information about this conversation later.
The day before, Erdogan had stated that he expected to have telephone conversations with Putin on Tuesday, “first to reach a sustainable ceasefire, and then to achieve peace in Ukraine.”
