Vladimir Kara-Murza Faces 5 to 10 Years in Prison Due to 'Fake News About the Russian Armed Forces'
Vladimir Kara-Murza has been transferred to the Basmanny Court in Moscow. RTVI reports this, citing the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
It is noted that the investigation has submitted a request for the politician's detention, according to the press service of the Investigative Committee. The case against Kara-Murza was allegedly opened due to his speech in the Arizona House of Representatives, his lawyer stated.
According to investigators, on March 15, Kara-Murza allegedly disseminated 'fake news about the Russian armed forces' to American officials, including reports of bombings in residential areas and maternity hospitals.
He faces a prison sentence of 5 to 10 years.
