Pentagon Expresses Discontent as Russians Show No Interest
U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin attempted to reach out to his Russian counterpart, Sergey Shoigu, about a week ago, but was unsuccessful. This was reported by Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby during a press briefing, according to RIA Novosti.
“I don't know when the last attempt was. I believe it was recently, about a week ago. Once again, the Russians did not show any interest,” he stated.
The Pentagon has confirmed that since the onset of military operations in Ukraine, they have been trying to establish contact with Shoigu and Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov. However, none of the attempts have been successful.
