Another 134 Ukrainian Soldiers Surrendered Overnight in Mariupol: Russian Defense Ministry
More than 130 soldiers have voluntarily surrendered in Mariupol, bringing the total number of those who have surrendered to 1160 over a single day. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, as reported by TASS.
“During the operation for the liberation of Mariupol, another 134 Ukrainian servicemen, including 14 officers, voluntarily laid down their arms and surrendered overnight. In just one day, 1160 Ukrainian servicemen from the 36th Marine Brigade surrendered voluntarily, including 176 officers,” Konashenkov said.
He previously reported that the same brigade had seen 1026 Ukrainian soldiers surrender voluntarily, including 162 officers and 47 female servicemen.
