VIDEO. "Putin's Death is Not Advantageous for Ukraine" - Alexey Arestovich
Ukrainian President's Office advisor Alexey Arestovich has stated that the death of Russian President Vladimir Putin would not be beneficial for Ukraine, despite Ukrainians considering Putin a personified evil.
This was announced in an interview with the Center channel.
"The best scenario for us is for Putin to live for some time longer, so that Russia simply breaks under sanctions," Arestovich said.
Arestovich labeled the worst scenario for Ukraine as the release of opposition leader Alexey Navalny from prison or the rise of another opposition leader. "This could also happen after Putin's death or his departure from power; they would indeed organize real parliamentarism, there would be several political parties. They would genuinely come to agreements with the West. The West wants to negotiate. Sanctions would be lifted from them, including those related to high technology," Arestovich added.
