We Cannot Leave the Country Without Gas, Says Moldovan President
Moldova is preparing to maintain neutrality and will not impose sanctions against the Russian Federation. This was announced by President Maia Sandu in an interview with Radio Europa Liberă.
As Maia Sandu explained, this way the state can avoid being left without Russian gas and electricity. “Can we leave the country today without natural gas and electricity? No, we cannot, not for our citizens, nor for the 100,000 refugees from Ukraine, of whom 50,000 are children,” said the Moldovan president.
At the same time, she noted that Moldova “enjoys the full support of its Western partners,” and they “will try to help Chișinău find alternative options for energy resources.”
