Tourism Sector to Lose $7 Billion Due to Absence of Russian Tourists
According to a report by Euromonitor, the global tourism sector is set to lose $7 billion in 2022 due to the absence of Russian tourists, while over the past 20 years, Russians have spent more than $300 billion on overseas vacations.
“Yesterday, it was noted that the global tourism sector will lose $7 billion due to the absence of Russian tourists. And I am confident it will be even more,” commented Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, as reported by Prime.
The official suggested that this $7 billion be directed towards the development of domestic tourism.
