Turkey Will Not Abandon Russian S-400s Under US Pressure
Turkey is not considering abandoning the S-400 missile defense systems under pressure from the United States or NATO, stated the head of the republic's defense industry agency, Ismail Demir.
“This is not a topic for us to discuss. We have discussed this issue before and are now simply continuing our cooperation with the Russian Federation. Abandoning it is not even up for discussion,” he said in an interview with Izvestia.
According to him, Turkey's position is to ensure peace and end the conflict in Ukraine.
As noted by State Duma deputy Alexey Chepa, there is no reason for Ankara to abandon the Russian S-400s and transfer them to Kyiv. He emphasized that these systems work better than the Patriot, so Turkey will not follow the US example.
