Russia May Ban Wheat, Barley, Oats, and Corn Exports Starting Tomorrow
Russia may impose a ban on the export of wheat, barley, oats, and corn from March 15 to June 30. According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture, a draft government decision regarding the temporary ban on the export of major grain crops from the Russian Federation has been prepared in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Reports indicate that from July 1, 2021, to March 10, 2022, Russia exported 28.1 million tons of grains, which is a 30.3% decrease compared to the same period last year (excluding exports to EAEU countries from January to March).
In particular, wheat exports have decreased by 30.9% to 23 million tons, barley by 34.7% to 2.9 million tons, and corn by 21.7% to 1.8 million tons.
