What Did Ararat Mirzoyan and Mevlut Cavusoglu Discuss? Both Sides Share Impressions from the Meeting
Today in Antalya, a meeting took place between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Turkey, Ararat Mirzoyan and Mevlut Cavusoglu. After the meeting, both sides shared their perspectives.
Ararat Mirzoyan noted that the invitation was quite a positive signal and emphasized the necessity to respond positively to that signal. “During our meeting, we reaffirmed both sides’ readiness to continue the process of resolution and normalization aimed at establishing relations and opening borders without any preconditions, and our two representatives are working in that direction,” he elaborated. The Armenian foreign minister expressed hope to see positive results in the Armenian-Turkish negotiations in the near future.
For his part, the Turkish foreign minister thanked Ararat Mirzoyan for accepting the invitation and participating in the diplomatic conference in Antalya. “We had a very effective and constructive meeting. As you know, we have initiated a process for the normalization of relations. Following the positive signals exchanged between President Erdogan and Prime Minister Pashinyan, we appointed special representatives. The negotiators have held two meetings in Moscow and Vienna. They discussed and continue to discuss steps aimed at complete normalization,” said Cavusoglu.
