US Congress Plans to Approve $10 Billion Aid Package for Ukraine
The US Congress plans to approve a $10 billion aid package for Ukraine in the upcoming week. This information was included in a letter addressed to lawmakers by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and was distributed on March 6, according to Armenpress.
“The Biden administration has requested $10 billion in humanitarian, military, and economic assistance for Ukraine,” the message states. Congress is expected to approve this emergency funding this week.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Ukraine in response to requests from the leaders of the Donbas republics. He emphasized that Moscow’s plans do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories, stating that the objective is the country’s demilitarization and denazification.
Following this, the US, European Union, Great Britain, and several other states announced that they would impose sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities.
