Macron Holds Phone Conversations with Scholz, Johnson, and Zelensky: What Was Discussed?
The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has held phone conversations with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This was reported by the Elysee Palace.
During the conversations, the main topic of discussion was the ongoing military operations in Ukraine. Specifically, Macron addressed the actions taking place around the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and informed his interlocutors about a phone call he had with Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), regarding this issue. The participants welcomed the President's proposal to take concrete steps towards implementing the IAEA's recommendations to ensure the safety of Ukraine's nuclear facilities.
Additionally, Macron discussed the upcoming EU summit set for March 10-11 with Scholz. He intends to address issues related to the consequences of the events in Ukraine and how European countries are adapting during this meeting.
