Seven More Samples in Armenia Identified with the Omicron Variant
The National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of Armenia, in collaboration with the Institute of Molecular Biology of the National Academy of Sciences and the Armenian-Russian University, continues to conduct molecular-genetic studies of samples from patients with positive PCR results for coronavirus disease.
Samples are collected from a selective group of patients with repeated positive PCR results, COVID-19 patients, and individuals entering the country through air travel with positive PCR laboratory test results.
As a result of ongoing laboratory research, the Omicron variant has been identified in seven more samples.
Considering the epidemiological situation, the Ministry of Health once again urges the public to continue adhering to anti-epidemic regulations and to get vaccinated, as vaccinations, especially booster doses, are particularly emphasized in the context of the emergence of new variants, especially Omicron.
