Vahagn Aleksanyan and Arusyakh Manavazyan Attend Parakar Municipal Council Meeting
KP members Vahagn Aleksanyan and Arusyakh Manavazyan attended a meeting of the Parakar municipal council at the invitation of the council's CP members.
"I do not believe there is anything concerning or that may arise here, as the CP faction and the 'David Minasian' alliance factions have the necessary number of votes to hold a legally qualified session and to carry out a lawful election. I think all issues are technical and will be resolved very soon," said Vahagn Aleksanyan, a member of the National Assembly from the 'Civil Contract' party.
It should be noted that from the morning, the factions have been unable to hold a session. Recall that according to the results of the local government elections held on December 5, the 'Living Country' party received 10 mandates in the 21-member council of the Parakar community, and their candidate, Volodya Grigoryan, was elected the head of the community with 10 votes. Although this number is less than 50 percent, the 'Living Country' party insists that if only one candidate is nominated, they can be elected with 40+ percent of the votes.
After that, the remaining 11 members of the council arrived, and with 11 votes, Davit Minasyan, the candidate from the 'David Minasyan' alliance, was elected as the community head. He was also elected by the members of the CP.
On December 23, supporters of the 'Living Country' party gathered in the yard of the Parakar cultural house, where the inauguration ceremony for their candidate was to take place, but the police did not allow them to enter the building, and the ceremony was held outside. On the same day, the 'David Minasyan' alliance filed a lawsuit demanding that the election results be annulled. The Administrative Court has decided to annul the results of the Parakar community head elections.
