Turkey's Exports Record Significant Growth in March 2021
In March 2021, Turkey's exports increased by 42.2% compared to the same period last year. This was announced by Turkey's Minister of Trade, Ruhsar Pekcan. According to Ermenihaber, she mentioned that the volume of exports in March amounted to $18.985 billion, marking the highest figure in the country's history.
According to the data presented by Pekcan, imports also rose by 25.8% in March. A total of $23.679 billion worth of goods were imported into Turkey.
The minister reported that the external trade deficit during the reporting period decreased by 14.2% compared to the previous year, reaching $4.7 billion.
In the first quarter of the year, import volumes increased by 9.7% compared to the same period last year, totaling $61 billion, while export volumes grew by 17.3% to $50 billion. She noted that the figures recorded in the first quarter are the highest ever for her country.
